Hotel & KARAOKE accommodations the night before the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cindy has booked rooms for our group at the Holiday Inn Long Beach Airport, for those who would like to fly/drive in the day before the CRUISE or stay the night after the CRUISE. Yes, and the hotel has offered their lounge to us for what else but karaoke. Yeah, Baby.  We are setting the place on fire with karaoke on Sunday night in the hotel lounge, November 7.

Contact our travel agent, Cindy for room price rates. She is working on a great group rate.

Dates: Sunday November 7, 2008

The Hotel is offering our group these arrangements:
1-Free shuttle from the Long Beach Airport to the Hotel. ($20.00 cab ride free)
2-Free shuttle to the Long Beach pier to board the ship. ( $20.00 cab ride free)
3-Free shuttle from the port back to the Hotel. ($ 20.00 cab ride free)
4-Free shuttle from the Hotel to the Long Beach Airport. ($20.00 cab ride free)
5-Free use of their bar area for Friday night for Karaoke. I have it in writing, party people !
6-Free parking for those who drive to Hotel. (parking at port $40.00 free) (If you stay at the Hotel, at least one night, you have parking for free.)
***Shuttle service and free parking is only available to those who are staying the night at the hotel..

WOW!! This is a great deal, So book your hotel accommodations with Cindy now, so that she can get you this rate as part of our group. The shuttle service is wonderful and will save most of us a lot of money. They only have one 12 passenger van, so we all have to take turns going.... Wait time may be 20 minutes for each group.

web site is: www.hilongbeach.com   Don't book on line as its more expensive then our group rate.

20 rooms are currently booked for each night. After the 20 rooms are gone, we will do what we can to accommodate our group size. But please don't wait to book your room with Cindy. Email or call Cindy and state what nights you want to stay... What time your flight arrives in Long Beach, or if your driving in and when to expect you. Give Cindy your credit card information.

Flight:
Cindy recommends Jet blue Airlines from Oakland to Long Beach. The Hotel shuttle service will only pick you up at Long Beach airport, so if you fly into LAX, you have to get a cab to the hotel on your own, or to the port.
Cindy has found that Jet Blue is wonderful and very easy to work with. You may book your flights at www.jetblue.com

You will need to be at the port to board the ship no later then 3:00 pm on Saturday. But try and be earlier then that to be safe ! You should be able to board the ship as early as 12:00 p.m. (noon)
You will get off the ship no earlier then 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, so a flight around noon or later is a very safe bet.

Parking at the airport..
Oakland- the best is www.expressoparking.com
Book on line and also use your AAA card to save more. Their free shuttle is every 10 minutes Quick and very friendly service.
San Francisco- www.airportparkingreservations.com      I like Anza parking. Cheap, fast and friendly service.

If you have any more questions, please e-mail me at RedCindyTravel@aol.com
I am working for you to save you money and make your vacation fun and enjoyable.

A NOTE FROM CINDY YOUR TRAVEL AGENT

As a new law went into effect on January 23, 2007, that states that if you travel by air to a different country you need a passport. It also says that if you travel by sea, you don't need a passport until January 2008.. This is the law..
But as a travel agent, and trying to do my job and protect my clients, I highly recommend you get a passport. It will cost you $97.00 and it is good for the next 10 years.. And you know that you will be going on more KARAOKE CRUISES!
Why you ask.....? I have been on many cruises, and without a passport, it made my life a little more stressful boarding the ship and getting off the ship. After I got my passport, life was wonderful, the ease of just flashing your passport and off you go.

All of the CRUISE ships recommend you have a passport. For the simple fact, if you get a call that Aunt Zelda passed away, you will need to get off the ship at the next port and fly home, so you can be with your family, at this sad time. But you would need a passport to fly home. OOPPSS, you didn't get one, so now your stuck on the ship, and can't get home to see Aunt Zelda be buried. Or say your in Mexico, and you go to the Cabo Wabo Cantina, and feeling really good, and you look out and the cruise ship is leaving, this is not good. Now you have to make your way to the next port or home.. You won't be able to fly out of Mexico without a passport...
Go get yourself a passport.. It will make your life more at ease, and the cruise lines.
A posting right from Carnival site:

Carnival strongly recommends that all guests travel with a valid passport during their cruise. This will enable guests to fly from the U.S. to meet their ship at the first port should they miss their scheduled embarkation; and allow guests that must debark the ship before their cruise ends to fly back to the U.S. without significant delays and complications. Additionally, it will greatly help to expedite their debark process.

or, be brave, because nothing will happen,

U.S. citizens must present proof of citizenship in the form of a original birth certificate, state-issued certified copy of a birth certificate from the Department of Health and Vital Statistics, or original Naturalization papers.
Proper travel documentation is required at embarkation and throughout the cruise. Even though a guest has completed registration using FUNPASS, it is still the responsibility of the guest to bring all required travel documents. Guests without the required documentation will be denied boarding and no refund will be issued. Guest should check with their travel agent and/or government authority to determine the travel documents necessary for each port of call. Carnival assumes no responsibility for advising guests of immigration requirements.

As your travel agent, Please go and do yourself a favor, get a passport.
The cost is $97.00, and its good for 10 years!

First time cruising? The do’s and dont’s

· Booking Flights
Plan to arrive by noon -- at the latest -- on embarkation day. The day before is even better. The reason: You need to factor in possible flight delays and other transportation glitches that could keep you from getting to the pier on time.

We have rooms booked for Sunday night and also Friday night at the nearby hotel ( see details above ).. Please let Cindy know if you wish to stay before or after the cruise for more karaoke and fun in Long Beach !!!!!!

· Cruise Packing
Carry-ons are key. Pack everything needed to get you and your family through dinnertime -- bathing suits, cameras, medications, sandals, sunscreen, a change of clothes and toiletries. 1 carry on. Bag with important items is wonderful.

· Dress to Impress
Every cruise line has a specified dress code, even if it's all casual all the time. Typically, formal means tuxedo or dark suit for men, and an evening gown or cocktail dress for women. Informal, jacket and slacks for men, and a dress or pant suit for women. Casual could be slacks and a sport shirt or capris and a blouse.

On this cruise we have one Formal night. Dress to impress… get great pictures taken. Buy the ones that are great. Or. Relax and go to the buffet dinner and relax.. It’s your cruise. Your vacation.. Enjoy

· Muster Drill
These typically take place just before the ship sets sail. Since much of the crew is busy preparing for the drill, it is not the best time to try to make changes or reservation requests. Your attendance at the drill is mandatory and you should take it seriously.

I will say this is the bad part of cruising. But the most important part, learn where to go and what to do in case of an emergency… Follow directions and it will be over before you know it..

· Check It Out
After you board, grab lunch in the buffet restaurant, and be sure to book spa services, specialty restaurant reservations and popular shore excursions as soon as possible.

· Read All About It
Want to know about the port you're about to visit, what the show times are, what lectures are being held the next day or even what the drink of the day is? It's all in the ship's newsletter which is typically slipped under your door each evening (for the next day's events).

Read this every day.. It is fun and has the next day activities.

· Live It Up
Celebrating a birthday, honeymoon or anniversary? Offerings range from rooms decorated with streamers, to specialty cakes, canapes, and renewal of vows packages. Check with your cruise line for pricing information and for booking deadlines, they vary from three to six weeks prior to departure.

Let me know if I can help you out.

· Get Out There
An updated list of available shore excursions is typically available a few months before your departure. Be sure to visit your cruise line's Web site to see if reservations can be made in advance online or by phone. If so, you might want to book your top two to three shore tours in advance since many popular ones do sell out.

· Packing to Disembark
Many cruise lines require you to pack your bags the night before you disembark and place them outside of your stateroom to be collected. This procedure expedites the disembarkation process. Utilize your carry-on again for toiletries and any remaining items.

· Tipping
Gratuity policies vary widely. For example, some ships add the suggested gratuities (roughly $10 per person, per day) to your onboard account on embarkation day.

From Cindy Corcoran your Travel Agent

I would like to personally thank everyone for joining our 2st annual Karaoke cruise. We are still in the learning phases, and already looking for cruise ships for 2009.

Forgive us if this one is not perfect. We are trying to make it perfect. George and I have spent many hours together, trying to make things go smooth. We have come across major speed bumps, but we took them with a grain of salt and a shot of Tequila.

I have been on many cruises, you will have fun, there is so much to do and see and we will have karaoke going as much as we can.

Once again, manditory that you have a passport... No exceptions.

This cruise (and almost every cruise these days) is a ticket less cruise… I might of already gave you your booking #. If I didn’t. Please e-mail me.. I will give you this number.. You will go to carnivals web site.. and give them all your info.. and then you will print out a booking ticket..

You might not be able to do this until your cruise is paid in full, and most everyone has done this.. So if you’re the few that has not. Aug is coming. And I will call you again for your final payment..

Thank you,, and Please contact me with any questions..

WHAT IS CHANGING?
Right now, if you like to cruise around the Caribbean or Mexico, you're probably used to packing your driver's license and birth certificate. There are big changes ahead for you.

Under the government's new Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, everyone (including kids) will be required to show their passport when traveling between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda.

The only exception will be if you travel to a U.S. territory, such as Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands. There, your driver's license and birth certificate will still be all you need.

APPLYING FOR YOUR FIRST PASSPORT
To get your first passport, you need to go (yes, I mean in person) to a passport agency. Bring with you:
* Two photographs of yourself;
* Proof of U.S. citizenship (ex: your birth certificate);
* A valid form of photo identification such as a driver's license;
* A passport application form.

Passport agencies are usually a post office, government office or public library. You may not apply for your first passport online. To find an agency near you, visit: http://iafdb.travel.state.gov/.

Your first passport will get you through the next 10 years and will cost $97 if you're age 16 or older. Child passports last for five years and cost $82.
